Most database management systems are centralized. A centralized DBMS means all data is located in one place – usually a centralized server. Despite its prevalence, the centralized DBMS faces a couple of major drawbacks. For example, in the event of a server failure or a hacker attack, all data can be lost or stolen.
Inery is a decentralized database management system. This means that the data is not stored in one place, but uses a distributed network of nodes that allows faster access and better availability of data. Data is less susceptible to attack or misuse because there is no single critical point. Cryptographic mechanisms, consensus mechanisms, and Inery’s “value contracts” also ensure data integrity and privacy – crucial in today’s digital era.
